Private Training

Bark-A-Bout is excited to introduce 1-hour Private Obedience Training Lessons for owners and their dog with our Certified Obedience Trainer, Wendy MacKenzie!
Wendy will give you and your dog a 1-hour Private Training Lesson that is custom-tailored to strengthen your dog’s obedience commands and behavioral needs by utilizing only effective, positive reinforcement training techniques.

Private 1-on-1 training lessons are a great way for you and your dog to learn from our Certified Obedience Trainer outside of taking a 5-week Obedience Training Group Class. Use this time to address that one gnawing issue your dog just can’t seem to break, or to learn additional rewards-based methods to resolve many behavioral issues at play.

Private Training Lessons are open to the public and offered on Sundays at Bark-A-Bout by appointment, at least 24 hours in advance.
*We do NOT require dogs to have passed a Bark-A-Bout Meet~N~Greet to take a Private Training Lesson.

Private Training Lesson FAQ’s

What do your Private Training Lessons cover, and what will we learn?

Once your dog’s first Private Training Lesson is booked, you will receive a questionnaire via email from Bark-A-Bout’s Certified Obedience Trainer, Wendy MacKenzie. This questionnaire will help to address your dog’s current needs and behaviors and set goals for your lesson. Upon meeting, Bark-A-Bout’s Obedience Trainer will evaluate your dog and work hands-on with you to teach positive reinforcement training techniques that you can utilize throughout your dog’s entire lifetime. You will then be sent home with homework sheets and behavioral hand-outs.

Private Training Lessons use positive reinforcement methods to address:

All obedience commands, including:
Sit, down, stay, wait, come, off, leave it, drop it, trade, go to place, let’s go, heel, touch/target, stand, quiet, back, leash walking and more.

Behavioral issues, including:
Nipping, housebreaking, chewing, destruction, jumping, counter surfing, door darting, digging, barking, minor fears, minor aggression, minor resource guarding issues and more.
